Root at ISTE 2018

This past week, some of our team was in Chicago to gather with over 16,000 educators from all over the world at the McCormick Center for the International Society of Technology in Education (ISTE) conference. "ISTE is a nonprofit organization that works with the global education community to use technology to solve tough problems and inspire innovation. Their worldwide network believes in the potential technology holds to transform teaching and learning." As one of the pinnacle conferences that we attend each year; thousands of educators, administrators and education specialists come to learn about the latest in education technology, and Root certainly got its fair share of attention!

We shared Root with visitors in the expo hall, and our Learning Design team spoke about how Root can be used as a coding tool that integrates a range of creative disciplines, merging technology, mathematics, art and design, allowing students to engage multi-disciplinary critical thinking to solve problems. We got feedback from thousands of attendees, one of the key differentiating features of Root is the ability to scale vertical walls - that definitely turned a few heads as people were walking through the expo hall! Every classroom is already equipped with a whiteboard and with the robust learning from the 1, 2, 3 levels of the app, we were a perfect fit to showcase to the tech-savvy ISTE educator. We really enjoyed speaking with educators from across the globe. It is always gratifying to know that our mission to ‘get anyone coding’ is truly happening out there. You can check out #ISTE18 and #CodeWithRoot to see the buzz about Root at the conference!
